THRIVE Program

THRIVE is an Otter Tail County Public Health community-based mental wellbeing program that aims to promote health through happiness and meaning. The initiative was developed using positive psychology research, theory, and frameworks. It encourages people to lead meaningful lives and build up what is best within themselves. The THRIVE initiative can increase feelings of purpose, strengthen social relationships, and create a flourishing community by using five evidence-based practices and resilience tools. Everyone can be part of the initiative by simply learning about the resilience tools and incorporating into everyday life.

A Proactive skill and practice-based movement where member of the community promote health through happiness and meaning using five mental health resiliency tools.

The THRIVE practices listed below are tools you can use to build resilience and improve mental wellbeing. Learn more about each practice by viewing the presentations and the corresponding videos. Use these materials to share and introduce the initiative to others in your community.

THRIVE was developed using evidence-based practices. The information, resources, and practices you find throughout the THRIVE documents are rooted in scientific research. The findings of this research support the effectiveness of the practices. Linked above is a selected list of scientific studies that have been completed. These selected research studies are related to the program’s foundational background and specific practices. Research about wellbeing is ongoing world-wide. This content will be updated periodically with new research and information relevant to the initiative.
