Gun Permits

Permit to Carry

All applications must be made in person at the Sheriff’s Office or Sheriff’s Operations Center. Permit application will only be accepted during normal business hours (8 am – 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday).

Please bring the following:

• Your driver’s license
• Your carry class certificate
• A completed Permit to Carry Firearm Application (three signature spots; permits also available to fill out in person)
• $50 cash (exact change only), check (made to OTC Sheriff’s Office), or credit/debit card application fee ($2 processing fee for cards)

Your permit will be processed and mailed out in approximately 30 days.

Permit to Purchase

Permit to Purchase applications can be submitted in person or mailed to:

• A completed Permit to Purchase Firearm Application (four signature spots)
• Photocopy of your driver’s license

There is no cost for the Permit to Purchase and the permit will be mailed out to you within thirty days.

Updating Your Information

Individuals looking to change personal information must provide the following:

• A completed Change of Name/Address Form for Permit to Carry
• Photocopy of your updated driver’s license/marriage certificate/name change certificate
• $10 cash/check/card. Card payments can be taken over the phone if mailed in. Cash must be exact amount.

Applications can be mailed or submitted in person.
