Law Library
The Law Library is stocked with case books, statutes, and a variety of other legal resources. The Law Library offers free access to Westlaw. Westlaw can also be accessed at the Fergus Falls Public Library.
The Library is open and available to the general public Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The only exception to the schedule occurs when the Courthouse is closed on a weekday due to a holiday.

Westlaw Patron Access Remote
The Law Library is participating in the Westlaw Patron Access Remote Pilot program with Thomson Reuters to allow library pro se (for yourself) patrons remote access to Westlaw, a premier legal research database.
When patrons click the Westlaw Patron Access Remote link, they will be required to complete a OnePass registration and to validate their email address before accessing the online content.
To access Westlaw Patron Access Remote in the future, patrons who previously registered can click on the Westlaw Patron Access Remote link and enter the OnePass username and password previously created.
Self-Help Clinic
Self-Help Clinics provide free help in completing pro se forms. In partnership with some local county law libraries, Justice North provides people who represent themselves help completing court forms. An attorney can help fill out the following types of forms: marriage dissolution (divorce), child support, landlord/tenant, wage claims, garnishment, expungement, custody/parenting time, OFP/HRO, eviction, debt collection, conciliation court and child support. This only applies to civil cases (family, housing, etc.) and is not for criminal cases. Anyone can use this service. There are no asset or income eligibility requirements and no appointments are necessary.
See the self-help flyer for more details.
Hours: Every Wednesday from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. in the Law Library.
Legal Kiosk
Legal kiosks are computers located across the state of Minnesota that provide access to legal aid services. You can use the library’s legal kiosk to find out if you have any legal needs, access information and services, or contact a legal aid provider. The legal kiosk can help you fill out forms, apply for services, or point you in the right direction.
The legal kiosk is a Reach Justice Minnesota initiative and a project of the Minnesota Legal Services Coalition.
