Otter Tail County Public Health will host a free CarFit clinic on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Community Hockey Arena Parking Lot, 340 N. Friberg Ave., Fergus Falls. Residents are encouraged to reserve a 30-minute time slot in advance.
CarFit is a free educational program that helps older drivers adjust their vehicle to fit them —improving comfort, visibility, and control behind the wheel. Trained technicians, including occupational therapists from Lake Region Healthcare, will work one-on-one with participants to check and adjust the fit between the driver and their vehicle. The clinic is offered in partnership with Sanford Fargo and Lake Region Healthcare.
During the appointment, participants can also learn how medications may affect driving, get information about safe driving classes, and connect with local resources that support safe, independent driving.
The clinic is open to all drivers and is especially beneficial for older adults who want to stay safe and independent on the road. Bring the vehicle the driver uses most often.
Space is limited. To reserve a time slot, contact Otter Tail County Public Health at 218-998-8320 or [email protected].
